St Ives History - Preserving the Culture of St Ives
The St Ives Trust Archive was set up in 1967 and was run by volunteers. The centre hoped to preserve the culturally rich history of the town, including its architectural merits and greatest points in history.
The study centre was set up in the 1990s to allow people of all ages to learn about their heritage. The archive includes newspaper, maps, books, photographs, sound recordings and genealogical records.
It was the hope of the archive to help citizens learn more about their heritage and the history of their city and to preserve it for future generations. The study centre is still well used and well loved today.
